The Koning Willem I College in the Netherlands wants faculty, staff and students to make the best use of their creative potential. They think it is essential to develop creativity as a core competence and a crucial skill, both in business and in education. In order to create a common language for multi-disciplinary projects, the college started to implement the ICE (Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship) Model in 2016. There are many models for creativity and innovation: Creative Problem Solving, thinkx Productive Thinking Model, design thinking, Lateral Thinking, etc. Here, you will learn about the ICE Model, which is based on all of these models. You will:
• Learn the ICE model, a creative process that moves through Pit, Trigger, Context, Question, Idea, Solution and Pitch – with a special emphasis on metacognitive/reflective thinking in the so-called Pit.
• Practice the steps of the ICE model.
• Explore how you might apply the ICE Model in your own school or business.
