BK208 Raising Creative Thinkers Who Turn Information into Knowledge

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Learn how to fascinate children and youth with interdisciplinary materials. See how literature and paintings explore the glory of nature and how science helps us experience its mysteries to instill environmental awareness and ignite ideation. Educators will be given tools and inspired towards better English proficiency, attitudes and motivation. Parents and grandparents will be enriched on how to complement classic academic studying with creativity facilitation. What will give workers an advantage in the knowledge age? The skill of creatively finding questions no one has sought before, locating the most-relevant information responding to the needs arising from those questions, developing it, and summing it up in knowledge that is useful. What is stopping us from educating for such skills? How do we direct children's intuitive creativity into such high-thinking skills? Children's creative thinking is associative, imaginative, and curious. By positively directing it, we can help them celebrate it and make the best of it. Come to practice Explore, Experience, Examine, Elevate and Express – the out-of-the-box strategy for turning information into knowledge by young flexible minds preparing them for the future. You will:
• Be inspired with an empathetic frame of mind for building creative environments at school and at home .
• Learn how to step back from lecturing and step into mentoring, enriching and inspiring with creativity.
• Learn how to complement classical education with creative thinking facilitation.
