EXT0304 (NEW) It’s No Laughing Matter: Finding the Humor in Adversity

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

We all face difficulty – difficult situations, difficult people, difficult challenges. It’s what we DO while we are in the midst of difficulty that helps determine how we will perceive the situation later. While it’s important to allow ourselves to feel negative feelings and emotions while they’re happening – in order to process them – humor can help release the pressure. Often, humor is not just a coping mechanism, it is a true release that re-frames a situation and changes our perception of it. We will:
• Practice using humor to understand how we view past adversity and create habits to help use laughter as a way to process feelings in the future.
• Plan to do some reflection, some improvisational exercises, and a whole lot of laughing.
(Tissues and chocolate will be provided – you’re on your own for a change of underwear.)
